Question / Help OBS Limiting GPU Use Causing Major FPS Loss (In-game)

Recently when I tried to record, I noticed a major hit on my fps when recording or previewing. In Minecraft for example, I was getting 200+ fps, and when I started previewing or recording it dropped down to 28-35 fps. I started monitoring CPU and GPU usage and saw that when I had shaders on minecraft I was using around 90% on my gpu, and when I started previewing it dropped down to 25-34% gpu usage. I've restarted a few times and made sure I have the latest drivers and latest version of OBS. Tried uninstalling OBS entirely but to no avail. I'm not sure if OBS just doesn't like my graphics drivers or is missing something to make them function properly.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

"when I had shaders on" ..is this some sort of minecraft mod? Also have you tried disabling the preview pane of OBS (by right clicking on it and going to the disable option)?

Shaders are a graphical mod that uses the gpu to improve the looks, yes. Just tried disabling the preview pane and had no luck. I've been able to record fine since June with the same settings and everything. I did recently clear the cmos on my motherboard because of an error I made while overclocking. The bios is up to date now, though.

Ok, I think I figured out the issue. Raptr, AMD's software thing for optimizing games for their gpus, had a built in game recorder which wasn't getting along with OBS. After exiting raptr, OBS behaves normally again.
