Question / Help OBS Lags and skips frames when streaming.

I tested my upload speed today, its way above average, my computer specs are as follows;

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640 AM3
GRAPHICS CARD: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB
MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte M68MT-S2P
MEMORY: 8GB DDR3 1333mhz (2x 4GB)

Don't really know if you need to know more than that. Basically The steam looks fine when im not doing anything, seems to be okay, I open hearthstone or League of Legends and it laggs like crazy and sometimes freezes and eventually will freeze and stop working all together.

As the sticky posts indicate, we'll need a log file to be able to tell you anything for certain. A ton of people have problems with LoL... dunno why Hearthstone would be a problem though.

Yes, that was it. Change your preset back to Very Fast instead of what you changed it to. And use a wired connection to your network instead of wireless.

There is no way of having a wired connection unless i had a cord 30 feet long, that went all the way from my room, down the stairs, and into the living room. xD I turned very fast down cus even on that setting It was lagging like crazy. But I will try again.

To turn down from Very Fast, you would go to Super Fast and then to Ultra Fast. Not the other way.

May I suggest a long cable that you only use when streaming then? You can pick it back up when you're done.

Okay changing it to ultra has made it work, the steam is fast and smooth now on hearthstone, havnt tried on league though.

your cpu is a bit too weak for 1080p

i would rather suggest going to thedefault preset veryfast and use a downscale to 1280x720 and you should be fine

since a 2k bitrate with 1080p and ultrafast preset looks like garbage as soon as you move the cam anywhere in lol
