Question / Help OBS lag, not game fps issues.

First off guys, I would like to say I'm very new to all of this and I'm incredibly sorry for any ignorance or lack of knowledge regarding the subject.

The issue I seem to be having is every time I start my OBS software and begin to record World of Warcraft I get about 3 seconds of good footage then one of 2 scenarios happen.
1.) It cuts the recording off, even though it still says I'm recording. Regardless of it saying it's still recording, when i open the recorded file it's only about 3 seconds long.
2.) It sits and records audio perfectly but the screen remains frozen until I end the recording.

Like I said, I'm incredibly new and it could just be a rookie mistake or settings being too high for my computer.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies, best regards.

Your CPU isn't strong enough to run OBS and your game at slower presets. Try VeryFast, SuperFast, or UltraFast instead of Faster or Fast. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+A10-6700+APU When working acceptably the total frames duplicated should be less than 1%. If its more than that you need to make some changes.

Since you're recording to disk and not streaming, you can set your profile to High and your keyframe interval to auto. And just in general follow this guide: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.12600
