Same here. I have to retry and SOMETIMES after about 20+ times, it will simply open normally.

EDIT: ok so I tried something but I can't say for sure if it was just a coincidence or if it actually helped.

I opened OBS and it crashed on startup as usual. Didn't even show the interface. Instead of right-clicking on the dock and selecting "Force Quit", I opened Activity Monitor, located the frozen OBS process (it's always in red), selected it and used the "Force Quit" command there.

It's been opening normally ever since ‍‍

I also had this issue.
Over the past year, whenever I try to open OBS, it would immediately crash.

My Solution:
(Backup &) Delete the Application Support data for OBS, located at
~/Library/Application Support/obs-studio

Open Finder and press "Command+Shift+G". Then enter the directory path that you wish to open.

Renaming the folder from obs-studio to obs-studio.bkup (or something similar) does the same thing as backing up and deleting.

Doing this clears any settings you have that may be crashing the application.
With the settings clean, I was then able to open OBS with no issues.

I plan to test which metadata was causing the issue for me, but it's likely a plugin that is incompatible with apple silicon.
