Question / Help OBS is not picking up speaker sound

Well apparently OBS does not pick up my computer's speaker sound ... I've tried it from every source and checked all my settings for it yet it doesn't want to work.

It says you're using a headset -- do you have your sound separated so that games go through speakers, and that voice chat goes through headphones? If so you need to probably go into audio settings and configure it, though it seems like you already did that.. I'm sort of confused, but this sort of thing is almost always a configuration issue.

However, there are very rarely some games that don't pick up, such as path of exile which uses OpenAL audio. There's a new option to get that working

Actually, there are two different channels on my px21which split up voice chat and game sound so I can change the volume on each. Both game sounds and chat do end up in my headset, and the microphone is getting picked up, but regardless of which option I choose the game sounds do not get picked up.

.... and now it decides to work without me changing any settings ... could you please explain why so that I could figure out how to deal with this in the future.

You sure you didn't change any settings? I unfortunately wouldn't know what happened without having been on your computer in this case.
