OBS is great ..but! - Blackmagic Video source can't have 2?

I want 2 scenes, 1 with plain fullscreen video from my camera, and the second where the video is in a circle overlaid over a web-browser. How to do this? cant duplicate the source, pasting a reference means whatever filter (the circle ) is applied to the video in both scenes. If I make a second media source, in a different scene (also the Blackmagic video source) the second source doesn't work.

Secondly - I cant PASTE duplicate Audio Input source, only PASTE reference.
In fact I cant PASTE duplicate anything. Is this broken?

In each of your two scenes, add the video source to a Group, and add the filters to the Group, not to the source.

The limitation of not being able to have multiple different-named sources for capture devices comes from outside of obs.

Groups, although capable of solving this issue, can cause other issues within scene collections
You're better off using scene nesting and applying filters to the nesting scenes instead
