Question / Help OBS gives black screen for monitor capture...

Hey guys! I hate for my first post on here to be a troubleshooting question, but I have a problem. Whenever I attempt to use monitor capture on my gaming laptop, OBS simply gives me a black overlay on the preview stream. I've tried looking through YouTube videos, forum posts, etc., and found next to no answers to my problem. I did set my default video card to my NVIDIA, and this didn't seem to help either. Any help would be appreciated!

Because the desktop is rendered on the intel GPU and OBS and the game need to be using the Nvidia GPU.
