Question / Help OBS doesn't pick up FFXIV music or sound

HI! I'm having some trouble with streaming and recording FFXIV video. OBS picks up and records the gameplay, but it can't pick up on the game's sounds (like music, sound effects, etc.). I tested the mic today, and OBS was able to pick up my voice. The program just doesn't record the game's sounds. What can I do to fix this problem?

OH! Sorry about that! This is my first time on the OBS forums. I'll be sure to do that ASAP.

To answer your question, I hear the game's music, narration, and sound effects on my headphones.

No, the sound isn't muted. Both the microphone and sound are at 100%. The microphone works well, and I hear my voice on when I click on "Preview Stream". As you can see in the screenshot above, the program is picking up my voice (as indicated by the green bar underneath the Microphone area). As you've probably noticed, there is no green bar underneath the Sound area. I can hear the game's music and sound effects very well on my headphones.



I've tested OBS with Guild Wars 2, and the game capture work perfectly (video, sound, and mic). I have no idea why OBS doesn't capture the music and sound effects from the FFXIV video game. :/
 
As a random shot: You may want to go into your FFXIV options, and check "Allow audio in the background." . Just a small idea, but maybe it will work.
