Question / Help OBS doesn't detect LGP Stream Engine (Avermedia) as a source

Hello guys!

As I wrote in the title my OBS doesn't show LGP Stream Engine as a source in Video Device Capture (or else you named that image source because I'm using polish version). I only see there two sources:

- AVerMedia C875 Capture
- Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910

I read this topic: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-doesnt-recognize-avermedia-lgp-stream-engine-resolved.4598/ but it didn't help me. I closed Skype and than turned on OBS - nope. I reinstalled LGP Stream Engine software - nope.

I use WIndows 8.1 that isn't listed on LGP Stream Engine OS:

"OS:
Win 7 x86, Win 7 x64, Win 8 x86, Win 8 x64"

Could that be the problem?

Oh God, thank guys.

And can you tell you how can I save all my scenes so that I could you them in the new instalation?

You can back up your %appdata%\obs folder if you'd like, though existing scenes should be imported into the new version of OBS and added to the default scene collection without a problem.

My question is, if we have OBS 64bit installed, can we install OBS 32bit as well and switch between them as needed? I hate to mess up my current 64 bit install just to use stream engine for a limited situation use.

If you used the installer then you have both, and they share the same scenes and settings, but the performance benefit of using the 64-bit version of OBS is negligible.. Shortcuts are located in your Start Menu; 32-bit OBS is installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\OBS and 64-bit OBS is installed to C:\Program Files\OBS. If you use any 64-bit plugins and want them to carry over you'll need to install their 32-bit equivalents in the 32-bit OBS plugins folder.

Thank you so much for your help Sapiens. I installed OBS a long time ago when the project first started so I did not even notice. I appreciate all of the help and detailed information you provided.

Hi there. I have been having the same problem...

I cannot get my OBS (running in 32-bit) to see the device 'LGP Stream Engine'... it still says AVerMedia C835 Capture... and when I add that the screen is red... or sometimes half red and half black.

Any suggestions or help? I've been struggling with this for months! =/

I've tried fiddling with the setting on my RECentral... I've also tried fiddling with settings on OBS. I've even uninstalled OBS and re-downloaded and installed making sure it's the 32-bit...

I've watched countless videos on YouTube (which all make it look so easy) and searched all over the internet on forums etc.

Completely baffled! Ha.
