So, Tuesday, obs was fine I was streaming for like 7-8 hours. Like 7pm to 3am. It was just league of legends, the usual. The next day (wednesday) I was planning to stream Stardew Valley for the very first time. Well, discord/twitch 20 notifs later I realized OBS kept doing a reconnecting/disconnecting thing. I had about 39 vods I had to delete (not exaggerating), and apologized to everyone who had notifs.
At first, we thought it was stardew causing it and looked up stuff for that, tried to exit full screen and things like that. Then realized even with stardew closed and restarting pc/obs still didn't work.
Then I had like nothing open and it kept doing it every 2 minutes or less. Literally was fine the day before so idk what happened as I never changed anytbjng and stardew was already downloaded.
We tried (between wed and thurs): -restarting pc/obs -checked logs (I saw nothing) -running obs in admin mode -making sure obs blocked by firewall -checking drivers update -checking windows update -disabling ad blockers for twitch on google chrome -uninstalling and reinstalling OBS and resetting settings -checking missing/corrupted files (none) -changing bitrate lower and higher -resetting router (I’m on Ethernet cable)
Possibly tried some other thing not listed that I forgot but ask me
After that I tried to connect to obs with re-stream instead of directly from twitch. I’ve never used re-stream before this. Did a bandwidth test and it lasted 30 minutes but I didn’t test it longer than that and assumed it was fine. So then someone told me to log back into twitch and change the server I was using and test it and it worked. But…
When I stream Thursday, it still cut out but it was way less. Like every 2 hours or so? Sometimes less like 1.5 hours or 30 minutes. But it was a total of 5 times that obs reconnected and disconnected in an 8 hour stream compared to 39 times in the less than two hour stardew. I was streaming league of legends Thursday if that matters.
Some of the times it came up right away after the blue twitch screen, but other times it made me actually go offline but then immediately went offline which made no sense. And each time it created a new vod instead of continuous even though I have the “Disconnect Protection” enabled on twitch. Viewers then have to refresh the page and it causes notifs and people to leave if they don’t know. :(
After all that I did send someone else my logs that’s better at this stuff than me and they found:
“RTMP send error 10054 and RTMP send error 10038”
But they have no idea what’s causing it and I don’t know what it means.
Please help if anyone has this problem too. I will also be contacting twitch support.
TL;DR OBS disconnecting/reconnecting repeatedly and causing me to go fully offline then back online on twitch, sending notifs, etc. how to fix???
