Question / Help OBS crashing everytime after stopping stream

I've recently switched from Classic to OBS studio (really love the whole layout and everything, thanks a lot!)
However, I have some issues at the moment:

First of all, my stream just randomly crashes/stops. I actually don't notice that myself since it doesn't say stream stopped or trying to reconnect or something. I only notice because my chat mentions that the stream is offline. The Streaming/Recording buttons still show as "stop stream/stop recording".

I then have to stop OBS manually and it crashes every.single.time.
It seems the stream stops ok but then it hangs at "stopping recording..." and it just keeps going until it crashes and asks me if I wanted to save the log file.

I am also uploading the four crash reports I have so far.
Any and all help would be really, really appreciated. Many thanks in advance! <3

What OS ( Operating System ) are you using OBS Studio on?
I have had this problem on windows before and it was just because I had my stream settings configured wrong.
Try adjusting your stream settings and see if that works.
If that does not try reinstalling OBS Studio.

I am on Windows 10 Home 64bit :)
I'd hope not to have to re-install OBS Studio with the hours I put in to set up all my different scenes -.-

Try messing with your stream settings.
If that does not work take not of your scenes then re-install it.
If that does not work then I don't know what else to do these are the only 2 ways that I have tried.

Well, "try messing with your stream settings" is very general. What exactly (or which areas) did you change to fix your issue?

Oh finally someone with the same issue. My obs studio also stops/crashes/freezes (whatever you wanna call it) randomly and theres no way to know if it happened, the preview just disappears or freezes. The only difference is that mine doesn't crash if I close it so I get no crash report. If you're streaming someone ends up telling you but if you're recording you gotta manually check it to see if it's still going or not and it's really annoying but I haven't found the solution yet...

So, small update. I didn't really change anything but disabled the automatic recording while streaming yesterday. The stream was fine, no crashes whatsoever. Since the crash seem to happen when it tries to stop the recording (since the streaming button goes back to start streaming once clicked) I assume it only has to do with the recording settings/part.

Will look into it further.

I'm having this same issue but I don't record so that shouldn't be the reason. I've tried everything. Do you guys get the cef-bootstrap.exe error???

I have a pretty similiar problem:

My internet connection has sometimes tiny "hiccups" and my Upload is dropping heavily for a few seconds and then recovers. But OBS sadly doesnt. The "Bitrate" on the bottom right of the window is hovering between 500-1100 and I keep dropping frames according to the window, but the stream is already offline since the "hiccup" happened. Then I try to hit the "Stop streaming" button but instead of stopping it, the button changes to "Stop streaming...." and I cant do anything else anymore than to manully close the window (OBS is not crashing by itself). Then I try to restart the stream and it always tells me my Stream-Key is not valid or the Connection to the server is borked. Changing the server or reseting the key during that didnt help and I always have wait ~5 Minutes until I can hit "Start stream" again.

Im running Win10 64 bit. I would appreciate every help. I know it's basically the "hiccups" fault but I wish OBS would just drop a bunch of frames and thats it. Or atleast let me reconnect quickly to the stream again to not let my viewers wait for 5 Minutes.

How is this deal-breaking issue not resolved yet... I'm getting the issue as well. 2nd time now in about 50 streams. The stream quietly stops being live.

Neither time did i crash. I believe the first time i had the bug i wasn't recording, and i did not crash.

This time i was recording, and did not crash. I "streamed" for 4 hours. The stream stopped being live after about an hour (1hr vod on Twitch). The recording lasts about 2 hours, but the video is all fucked up and choppy (same as vod on twitch), and in the recording the audio eventually speeds up faster and faster until the end, with a frozen screenshot from 1hr in. This isn't the same as last time, so this could be a new bug in 17.0.0. System performance was also really bad this stream, was wondering wtf was going on.

When i clicked Stop Stream and Stop Recording buttons, they hung around for a while "Stopping". After about 10 minutes Streaming stopped. "Stopping Recording" didn't stop, but i eventually clicked on it and it stopped. Didn't know you could click on that.

Windows 10 Home 64bit, OBS Studio 17.0.0 (64bit).

@unsane , you have just connection issue in this log.
That's probably partly true, but not entirely. The messed up local recording is proof of a non-connection issue.

1) OBS did not notify me in any way that it was intermittently recording or whatever the heck it was doing. It said the whole time that it was recording. I had the "Recording" button going for 4 hours, but i have a 2 hour video file at the end of it. ;) And the video file is all fucked up. A video slideshow almost from the start, but with audio functioning just fine, for an hour.

2) Also OBS did not notify me in any way that i was no longer streaming. In fact the software said throughout the entire 4 hours that i was "Streaming".

There's more than met your eye i suspect? Thanks for the help btw.

1) maybe you miss the dropped frames info and overloaded message (info/status bar of the OBS Studio)?

Oh? I get those messages once in a while in all my other streams too, i didn't think it was necessarily a deal-breaker. Something crazy happened this time though, and yeah i guess the notification of it, at least.
