OBS crashes if I plug in mic (scarlett solo audio interface)

OBS used to work fine a week ago, but all of a sudden it started crashing today. After many hours of problem solving, I figured out that OBS does not crash if I keep my scarlett solo audio interface unplugged. I don't think I've changed anything and I went to update the audio drivers etc. but everything says it's up to date. I am not too computer savvy and can't figure out why this is happening. OBS works fine until the scarlett solo is plugged in, so used %APPDATA%\obs-studio\logs to get the crash logs (since OBS freezes if I plug the scarlett solo in).

I think it has something to do with:
01:51:47.635: [WASAPISource::TryInitialize]:[Microphone (Scarlett Solo USB)] Failed to activate client context: 88890004

but I have no idea how to fix it.

Alongside the logs\ directory should also be a crashes\ directory, could you post the latest file from there?

How do I find that?

If I go to OBS and click "help > crash reports > show crash reports" it takes me to an empty folder.

I have no idea if OBS is registering it as a crash because every time I plug in the scarlett solo, everything freezes and I get an infinite blue circle on OBS, but I end up closing the window manually because it says obs is (Not Responding).

I have discovered that this problem occurs with any sort of audio input, not just the scarlett solo. Even using my headset mic as an input causes obs to freeze and not respond.
