Question / Help OBS crash with Rocksmith 2014

Hi,

I've tried all the configurations that i've seen in the forums to make OBS work with Rocksmith 2014 and i can't make it work. This is the main problem that occurs with the normal configuration.

Everything seems to work fine when i start recording with OBS with Rocksmith 2014 opened, but when i stop recording, OBS freezes and stop working until it finally breaks giving me a crash report.

I've attached the crash report and the last log file.

PD: Btw, disabling exclusive audio both in windows or in the game options doesn't let the game work properly.

Sorry, added the last phrase a minute ago:

"PD: Btw, disabling exclusive audio both in windows or in the game options doesn't let the game work properly."

There's another way to do it?

No, if OBS cannot use the audio device then it won't get any timestamps and will freeze up and crash.

Ok, having in mind what you say i've been looking for any possible options using exclusive mode and i've found a solution. I'll write it below for anyone that could have this problem.

- In recording devices, go to Rocksmith cable adapter advanced properties and set audio quality to 16 bits 48000 Hz. Keep the "Allow exclusive" option on.
- In playback devices, go to your default audio output (speakers or whatever) advanced properties and set audio quality to 24 bits 48000 Hz. Also, untick the "Allow exclusive" option.

Dunno the reason why its needed to change the audio quality, but it works this way, at least for me. When opening the game with this config, it gives you a warning at the beggining saying that is better to have the "Allow exclusive" option enabled for your audio uotput device, but it lets you keep playing.
