Ok, appreciate the help so far!Damn, time flies 4AM... Going to grab some sleep, I'll check in later.
Even if it pops up for a second I can't get it to stay up to click scene collection
I had installed the streamlabs plugin sometime ago, yes. I also have streamlabs installed as a backup but I've always prefered regular OBS StudioOBS not opening has nothing to do with your RAM. Uninstall VLC if you have installed it and test again. Also, have you recently tried to install the streamlabs plugin?
Still nothing. I've deleted contents in this folder before and sometimes will get it to pop up for a second before dissapearing againWith OBS closed, delete the obs-studio folder, get a fresh start. Navigation should look something like this:
C:\Users\you\AppData\Roaming\obs-studS
this is the likely cause, there is an issue where windows defender is flagging the streamlabs plugin for OBS and causing OBS not to start as a result. fully uninstall the plugin and try again.I had installed the streamlabs plugin sometime ago, yes. Not sure where to find the plugin on my PC to uninstall it. I've deleted and reinstalled OBS Studio so many times im not sure if or where the plugin would be to uninstallthis is the likely cause, there is an issue where windows defender is flagging the streamlabs plugin for OBS and causing OBS not to start as a result. fully uninstall the plugin and try again.
So back to this thread. Tried reinstalling OBS on my external hardrive rather than ssd. Still the same thing, opens for less than a second before closing.SE does replace core elements of OBS but the re-install & deleting that folder should have taken care of it.

"Failed to glob scene collections" in OBS Studio means that the software is unable to locate or access your saved scene collections, likely due to a corrupted file path, incorrect permissions, or a problem with the OBS configuration directory where scene collections are stored.
Possible reasons and solutions:
How to access scene collections in OBS:
- Corrupted configuration file:
- Restart OBS: Sometimes a simple restart can refresh the configuration and resolve the issue.
- Verify file integrity: Check if your OBS installation files are corrupted by verifying them through the application's settings or platform where you downloaded it.
- Reset settings: Consider resetting your OBS settings to default (be sure to back up important settings before doing this).
- Incorrect file path:
- Check the directory: Navigate to your OBS settings and verify that the path for scene collections is correct and accessible.
- Permissions issue: Ensure your user account has read/write permissions to the OBS configuration directory.
- Missing scene collections:
- Check for existing collections: Double-check if you have any scene collections saved in OBS.
- Import from backup: If you have a backup of your OBS settings, try importing the scene collections from it.
