Question / Help OBS CBR Problems?

Here is my question: in OBS my bitrate will jump up, then go near what its set to, then fall down, then go near where its set to. Graph looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/5GklX2b.png?1

this only happens to me, I can't find any others who have this issue.

It is very annoying, since viewers get lower FPS than usual, and sometimes get buffering (when it jumps up)!

Scene buffering time set to 200

Set this to 700 instead of 200.

Your other settings look mostly ok. Try lowering your stream framerate to 30 fps and your preset to Very Fast to see if the problem goes away. 48 fps shouldn't be a huge problem, and your computer seems to be able to handle Faster preset. But if things are going wrong, its best to go back to the default that we know works. Also, Twitch/Justin.tv's player (because of Adobe Flash) can have trouble displaying more than about 30-40 fps.

Bitrate, even set to CBR, isn't actually constant. Its just more approximately consistent than with other encoding settings. If the above doesn't fix your issue, try lowering the buffer size. The lower the buffer size, the more consistent the bitrate becomes, but the quality gets worse.
