Question / Help OBS causes game to crash.

My game runs perfectly fine, but once I start streaming my game will crash due to a driver error. This only happens when I hit the start streaming button. Im using an AMD R9 390 on the latest drivers. I tried disabling the steam overlay, I uninstalled the AMD evolve gaming app, I tried using window capture instead of game capture. I've tried pretty much everything. The only time I can run OBS with stream is if I use OpenGL instead of DirectX11, but obviously it doesnt capture the game, just the sounds. I even tried switching streaming software and it yielded the same results. If you need some sort of log or something, just tell me how to get it and I will provide it.

Yes please on the log. so I would venture that you are using OBS MP? that is a different forum but say the word and I'll move your thread for you.

Windows 8? you should probably update to windows 8.1 at least. I think there are some major driver differences with 8 and 8.1. once you do that, wipe your AMD driver in safemode with DDU then reinstall the newest after you restart.
it is 8.1 though. Does OBS think its 8 or something?

Weird, yeah it does. based off the build number NT 6.2.9200, its Windows 8. not sure if this is the issue, it was just something I noticed. I would still do the trick with uninstalling AMD drivers with DDU anyway. other than that, watch heat on CPU, etc.

So I did the driver uninstall and reinstall, reinstalled OBS, and i was watching the GPU and CPU. It did not get hot, and it still froze the game.
