Bug Report OBS Can't Distinguish 2 Webcams w/ Same Model

Webcam A is an older model that has become problematic, and I liked the quality of Webcam B, so I bought Webcam C to replace Webcam A and use 2 C920s.

If I don't have Webcam A connected and only the C920s are recognized, OBS can't discern between them. They're 2 separate selectable items on this menu, but the feed for Webcam B is displayed no matter which one I choose.

The only way I've found around this is to have Webcam A hooked up for no other purpose than to allow me to select a non-C920 cam. If I want to switch a feed from Webcam B to C, I can switch it to Webcam A first, and THEN I switch it to Webcam C.

... it seems the developers believe this issue is already fixed. So just wanted to bring this to you guys' attention.

Are you using the latest test version? If they for some reason have the same device ID, I'm not quite sure how we'd be able to distinguish between them, but the test versions should match by device ID rather than by name.

Well, 0.592b isn't the latest test version. Please download the current test build, either check the Test Builds forum or just click the Download link at the top of the page and use the "0.60 test build 7" link on the right side and check if this problem is still present. You might have to remove and re-add your webcam sources to ensure that they're pointing to the right one. If it's still doing it in the test version, please post a log.

My apologies - I wasn't aware there was a distinction between the main betas and test versions. I'll try out the test version when I get some time.

the issue is still present. I have 2 logitech C260's and OBS isn't allowing me to use both webcams. I am using the latest version to the best of my knowledge. It says 0.60b test build 6.

I was hoping to livestream my haswell rig build using 2 different angles with webcams and now I can't. :(

UPDATE: i didn't realize there was a test build 9, downloading now. Will update this post again to let you know
