Question / Help OBS and TeamSpeak: not getting my mic sound while TS is open

I am using obs to record gameplay footage, not to stream. This includes my computer's audio which has TeamSpeak. OBS records the computer's sound and therefor my teammates' voices fine, but my mic will not record. When I close TeamSpeak, obs records my mic again. But as long as TeamSpeak is up, OBS does not capture the sound from it. I must use push to talk, and I set the same button (z) to activate my mic on both OBS and TeamSpeak thinking that when I pressed it both would use the same mic.

I assume this is because when TeamSpeak is open it takes the use of the mic so OBS stops being able to record it? I will try to use a separate mic for OBS than TS, but would really like to just use my computer's built in mic for both. I found threads concerning OBS and TS issues but not quite like this. Has anyone else encountered this issue and/or found a solution?

Perhaps the mic's set to exclusive mode in the windows sound control panel? Usually that's what would happen with the sound of what you're describing.

@Jim

Thanks, I found the exclusive mode property and unchecked it, and it seems to have solved the issue. Oddly, TeamSpeak still takes exclusivity with the mic when the TeamSpeak window is selected. This isn't much of a problem, since when I'm on my game I don't have or only sometimes have the ts window selected. Even so, would be cool if we could solve this as well for the sake of thoroughness.

What you can also do: Download VB-Cable or Virtual Audio Cable (the first is free, the second not) and set your Microphone to listen to the VB-Cable/VAC Line. In OBS you now can use the VB-Cable while teamspeak still uses your Microphone directly.
That way it should always work in both. (Although on a quick test I couldnt reproduce your problem this fix should help)

Sorry for digging up this thread but I have the same problem between teamspeak and OBS whichever I start first seems to claim the microphone even tho exclusive mode is already turned off. I get the following error:
"An error occurred initializing microphone audio - it may not be plugged in or another application could be using it in exclusive mode."
So is there anything ale that could cause this?
