Question / Help OBS and NVENC Question.

i've been seeing a warning message that pops up in the bottom left hand corner of the OBS window while using NVENC. i think it said something along the lines of "WARNING: Taking too long to encode..."

i'm currently using the low latency high quality preset and also tried using the regular high quality preset and the warning message persists. if anyone can tell me what's going on i'd highly appreciate it :)

i'm not in front of my desktop at the moment so, i'll post the log if needed.

Try using the "Default" preset so that OBS will adjust the actual preset based on the resolution and frame rate you're trying to use.

i gave the default preset a go and it seems to have resolved the stutter that was visible on the stream (thanks) but, that warning message seems to still be pegged in the bottom left hand corner of the OBS window.

is this something i shouldn't worry too much about if the stream is looking ok?

here's the log file but, it seems to say i was using the low latency high quality preset (unless it's suppose to do this): https://gist.github.com/fbabe278980e96ac4e05

i've also got this warning sometimes but it only shows up when im tabbing in&out a few times as soon as im either ingame or on desktop for more than 1 sec the warning disappears

ah i see, i must've just been seeing it when i was alt+tabbing, thanks.

i just noticed though that sometimes the stream has some color issue. it just looks like all the colors are going wild, here's a link to the archived stream: http://www.twitch.tv/deftergaming/b/513287379

do you guys know what may be causing this?
