I have been trying to get these two to work together and it does not look easy, from what I have read it may be too hard for me so is there any tutorials or set up guides that could help or is it a lost cause

I like OBS and I hope I can keep using it, I did use a Aver HDMI single input card but I need more cameras so I got the Decklink Duo 2 as I need more inputs and to be able to use SDI longer cables, I have not been able to get a picture in OBS so I downloaded Vmix and I do get a picture on some settings but not on all settings, I can see that this card may not work with OBS so I am hoping that the forum or the admins can say that it can work and how. Adding a decklink duo2's source to OBS is actually simple.
Make sure no other program is using the chosen channel and add it as a blackmagic device source to obs.

I can see that this card may not work with OBS
I don't know where you saw that, but it's VERY wrong. OBS works just fine with a decklink duo2.

Harold, I have the decklink duo2 configured as 4 SDI inputs (I just need 3). One input is from a PC video source via HDMI to SDI conversion. That comes in fine as a BlackMagic Capture Device on input 4. The other 2 inputs are PTZOptics 30x cameras. When I try to add them in OBS as BlackMagic capture devices, they don't show up at all. What am I missing?

What version number of the blackmagic desktop video software do you have installed?
That version is 12.7.1. But it turned out my issue was with the PTZ Optics cameras, which output either HDMI or SDI but not both, and they default to HDMI. I changed the camera's video encoder settings from HDMI to SDI and then the blackmagic SDI card got the video signal.

However, I'm now struggling to find a way to monitor the OBS audio input with headphones. I have an MSI gaming desktop, with an M-Audio M-Track Solo converting my mixer output from XLR to USB. I've added that as an input audio source for OBS, which works fine. I get another audio channel from one of the Blackmagic SDI card inputs, from a laptop at the other end. But I haven't found a way to monitor the audio inputs with headphones. None of the OBS monitor settings seem to work.

Apologies if this is the wrong thread for this question, suggestions welcome.

I have a similar issue, but I don't have my PTZOptix 30x cameras yet. Being my HDMI to USB wasn't working with my new build (keeps dropping video after 14min), we purchased a cheap HDMI to SDi converter until the good stuff comes in.

Blackmagic software can see the input (verified by switching inputs) but it is not seen in OBS. Along with the new build I also installed the latest OBS V30.

No visual video in the blackmagic software or OBS, just the acknowledgement with Blackmagic that a 1080P30 signal is at the input.

I am hoping to have this resolved and functioning before our new auditorium is finished and the new components are attached.
