Question / Help OBS and 3DS Capture Software crashing

Hi, just today I've started encountering problems while trying to stream content from my 3DS.

I got my 3DS from 3dscapture.com. All software and drivers are up to date. The program captures 3DS content fine on its own, but when I open OBS and hit "Preview Stream", the capture stops working. I use Window Capture to capture the top and bottom windows separately. After that when I try to close OBS, the entire thing refuses to close, forcing me to hard reboot my PC.

The log file for my most recent attempt is as follows:

I've been streaming 3DS content for 9 months now without issue. Hopefully someone can help me resolve this ASAP.

Thanks for reading.

OBS shouldn't have a problem or cause a conflict with the 3ds software you're using, especially if window capture is all that's being used. It feels/sounds more like a system issue of some sort, but honestly I could not be certain at this point. I'd have to actually get a 3ds and this software to really be able to know for sure. I might not really be able to help you out with this one, this is really weird, and the log doesn't say anything particularly unusual. Even more unusual is that it's happening with window capture, which is completely uninvasive.

Could you see if you could find out specifically what in OBS is triggering your 3ds program to have issues? For example, trying it with a blank scene, then adding captures and seeing what specifically might be the cause?

That being said, I don't *think* this is an OBS issue, because I've never really seen anything like that before.

sorry for the necro, but i just encountered the exact same problem.
iirc(big if) I installed OBS back in november and didn't update it until last week and since then it's exactly as saphiea describes it, 3DS-Capture works fine on it's own but as soon as OBS starts window-capturing it crashes horribly and sometimes also crashing my webcam software which I started using at the same time as I updated OBS.
(Everything was fine the last 3 months of streaming)
