OBS 30.0.2 no longer supports QSV?

I just found out that the new version no longer supports Quick sync - which is what I've been using for years already.

Problem is - my graphics card is GeForce 940m, so OBS doesn't have NVENC. The options I have left for output is AOM AV1, SVT-AV1, and x264 (which I used before, but it hampers my laptop's performance).

I tried to look for an installer for a previous version of OBS so I can use it again, but I only download through GitHub as zip instead of an installer (I found SourceForge.net, but I'm unsure if it is safe).

Any solutions?

You're on a system that is old enough that intel's drivers no longer support quicksync in current versions of OBS.

You can try replacing the .dll from a previous working version. See this post for info https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/mfx_err_unsupported-qsv-failed-to-load.163141/#post-634493

You can download 29 .zip from https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/releases/tag/29.1.3 , extract/copy the file and just keep your 30.0.2 install.
If that doesn't work, try the last 28 version from https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/releases/tag/28.1.2 or last 27 version from https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/releases/tag/27.2.4

I was able to download the obs-qsv11.dll from SourceForge.net - I downloaded the installer as a zip, and extracted obs-qsv11.dll to obs-studio/obs-plugins/64bit.

Currently testing if it's all good now. If I haven't replied for a long time from now, it means we're good.

Tried this for my similar problem. Just installing the obs-qsv11.dll did not solve my problem. I used the version of that file from 27.2.4. Installing the complete 27.2.4 did fix the problem. Back in business.
