Question / Help Nvidia Laptop Monitor Capture Black Screen

So I read and followed the instructions here: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/laptop-black-screen-when-capturing-read-here-first.5965/

and I watched numerous videos and read many forum posts, but I can't seem to fix the black screen issue.

I feel like I am probably missing something obvious, but I can't seem to figure it out, so I decided to come here for help.

You have to use window or game capture when running OBS on your NVIDIA GPU. Monitor capture won't work; that's the tradeoff with switchable graphics laptops.
