My Question is: Is there any downside from using NVENC? What NVENC preset i can/should use?
Can i still use NVENC if i play a game that uses 100% of the GPU?

NVENC (like Quicksync) is an extremely fast encoder. This means the compression it puts on your video is very little, and thus the video quality sucks badly. To that effect, once you hit "faster" or any slower encoding compression (like "fast", "medium", "slow", etc) on x264, NVENC and Quicksync etc become obsolete in terms of quality. HUGELY obsolete, in fact.

Yes, you can use NVENC with 100% on the GPU.

Please note that using NVENC with OBS *STILL* requires some CPU processing power. It is not much, but it is there. I should know, because I tried recording my desktop using NVENC and OBS (because Shadowplay desktop recording is not out for laptops because #ScrewNvidia) and I would only get a still image recorded with the CPU stretched to 100%.

Finally, if you can get that 2500K to about 4.5GHz or so, you'd be much better off using x264 with some compression.
