Bug Report NVENC not producing video output in the recorded file when streaming and recording at the same time

Hi,

when streaming i always record the video via OBS.
I've now got a GeForce GTX 970 and i really would like to use NVENC.

However, the video file being recorded only has black video (video on stream and audio from file are both fine).
Also, only recording instead of streaming works fine, too.

It doesn't matter what video player i use (VLC, ZoomPlayer or MPC-HC with Combined Community Codec Pack), no video, only a black screen.

I've tried lowering the FPS and Resolution but doesn't help.

Here's a log from when i stream and record at the same time: https://gist.github.com/98e30f356c11f67fa01d

Here's a log from when i only record: https://gist.github.com/33e08442763780197b87

I don't have the problem when using x264 instead of NVENC.

I'd try another video driver but there's only two available for the GTX 970 right now, both produce the same problem. (if it's a driver problem)

Thanks for your time!

Edit:

NVENC preset is "Automatic", Encoding Profile "main"

CBR: yes (2pass)

Seems to indicate that you're selecting the "Streaming (2pass)" preset instead of Automatic. Could you double-check this? You can also try manually selecting "High Quality Low Latency".

Funnily enough, this only happens if i tell OBS to automatically record a file when starting to stream.

If i start streaming without that option, and then start the recording manually, it works just fine.

Here's a log from where it properly works: https://gist.github.com/33d5d56825a73bdf4dc3

Edit:

Sorry, it doesn't. Or only sometimes.

Twitch tells me that i am not using the h264 Codec when is start recording after twitch noticed i'm live.
