Question / Help Not recording Spotify music

Hey I'm trying to stream with music on in the background using the Spotify windows player, but I can't get OBS to pick up the music. I can hear the music in my headphones but OBS wont record it. I've adjusted the audio settings in OBS but none of the options work. All of my audio/headphones are going to one place, so if I hear it it should record it. The web player works fine but I want the windows player to work because I don't have to set it up every time I use it.

Something I noticed: in the windows Audio Mixter turning the Spotify player to 0 doesn't actually do anything, the sound seems to be linked to the speakers...also while playing the green level bar doesn't appear, so it's like nothing is playing, but I can hear the music.

If possible always include a log file. Are you using a xonar sound device? Are you separating sound to speakers and headphones?

Using a Xonar DG, and no everything is being routed to my headphones while streaming so I can hear it, my speakers are unplugged when I stream and I use the same port for both my headphones and speakers. I think this might be a Spotify problem seeing as far as the computer is concerned it's not even playing music (no levels bars) but I can clearly hear it, although I know Spotify works for streamers because I see people use it all the time.

You need to disable GX mode in xonar settings.
