Hi,

I recently tried to stream after a long time. However, when I turned on my stream, my audio would suffer. Like, I have Siberia headset and when the sound would lag every few seconds. Like, not extreme lag, but those 0.01 seconds of lag that are definitely noticable and annoying. ALso, my framerates in game weren't optimal. I get 200+ FPS without streaming but now I couldn't get very high and especially when scrolling around the map (League of Legends) it wouldn't go smooth the way it goes without streaming. I recall that it used to work well. What happened?!

I would like to add a log but for some reason it is very hard to find those.

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=97 - here is how you post a log file. You just open the folder via OBS, Settings menu at the top -> Open log folder, and then copy and paste all of the contents on to a forum post.

Also, could you explain what you mean by lag for your headset? Do you mean delay, or sync issues? If possible, please try to be as specific as you can, as lag can mean different things depending on the context.

What I meant with sound lag: it's really hard to describe. It's not really lag. Basically I hear the sound but it's not fluid. Every once in a while you hear a bit of an annoying sound, like someone is putting an earphone in your ear together with some sand. Can't describe it more properly, sadly. Perhaps it isn't related to it and you can help me through the log?

Not entirely sure what sort of things you're referring to. You may have to make a video of the issue.

Is there anything in the log that could explain my lower-than-optimal framerate, a problem I didn't experience when streaming a few months agO?

Not sure, you seem to be running with aero off, which isn't always the best, but I don't know if having aero on would fix your issue, especially if the game is running fullscreen or something. You could use window capture on the lobby window instead which would allow you to turn aero back on, though again I'm not sure it would help at all.

Not entirely sure otherwise, perhaps something changed recently or there are background processes running that shouldn't be.

I did change my video card. Used to have the Radeon HD 7850, now I have the Nvidia GeForce GTX 660. Both should be good. Dunno, only thing I can think of.

Man, I really don't know what to do. The sound, it's like as if my headset speakers are going to blow up from the sound of music when I strea because of the music. However, when I stop the stream/stream preview, this 'sound' disappears.

If you're actually getting sound in to your actual headset while streaming, that's usually indicative of hardware/motherboard related issues.

WHen I plug out the Siberia headset and plug in my Apple earphones, I get the same issue. You think this is motherboard related/I should update motherboard drivers?

Having your motherboard drivers updated is always good. I don't know if it'll help, but it's good to do. They're often available on windows update, but you can usually get more up to date versions on the vendor websites.

I am trying to download but I am having some issues which are being helped at at a different forum. In the meantime I would like to ask you what can I do? I really want to stream and my 1200 euro pcs which is roughly 1.5 years old should be able to handle it, as it did before..

Try lowering your webcam resolution, by like half, and see if that affects it at all.

Wow! I think that might have fixed it. With 1080 my FPS is pretty consistently under 60 fps (about 55) whereas with 480 resolution my FPS stays over 60. So this can really be the killer thing? Is 1080 so intensive for my computer or how does it work? Shouldn't my 1200 euro computer I bought 1.5 years back be able to handle 1080 or is this really something I shouldn't expect? Is the 480 webcam quality compared to 1080 notieable for my viewers? I usually have my cam take up about 5% of my total scene.

It's because I've seen this happen before. If your webcam resolution is too high, it requires a lot of bandwidth, and can interfere with mics and such for some reason because of inherent hardware-related issues on some systems. Turning down the resolution is usually all that's needed usually to stop it from interfering.
