Question / Help Not getting any audio when recording

Why do you use a Virtual Cable?
Use analog inputs for best audio without any latency (if your soundcard can support this) or connect your mixer via USB if it has this function.

I use a virtual cable because I need more sound inputs than OBS has available.

Well what is the mixer for? And i hope thats a good analog mixer - this is what will give you all the needed control over several in/outputs you can find.

The mixer is so I can capture 3 separate audio devices at once, and it has worked for over half a year now. The mixer is NOT the issue unless the new update for OBS broke it.

What is the mixer actually? I esxpect anyone to have an analog mixer for this stuff. Not a virtual one that will cause problems.

No idea, you have to test the whole sound chain. And i recommend anyone to use an analog mixer, if he is using more than 2 in/outputs. This will give you more options, better control over the audio and audio routing is just so easy with a mixer. Forget the software, it is a huge mess and will most likely cause problems and/or high latency.

I use Banana with zero issues, are you definitely outputting to the Virtual Cable? i.e B1 or B2 (the virtual outputs) are they definitely highlighted for the sources you want to send to OBS? Post a screencap of your Banana (:O) may help.

Yes, I have it all configured properly and it has been working for a long time. The sounds stopped suddenly (just for OBS) when I updated, and aall the settings are the same on every application universally. I'll post a screenshot when I get home today but I don't know how useful it will be, as I tried every configuration I possiby could and I still got no recorded sound. Not even the raw hardware capture was working.

Make sure that your voicemeter thing is working before testing it with OBS. OBS itself can take any audio source that is getting sound, doesnt matter what it is, except a few drivers that actually lock the audio to a single programm (ASIO etc).

How would I do that? I can hear the audio, I can customize it to playback on whatever I want, it is working.

So you can actually hear the virtual output of the voicemeter?
If yes, OBS would have no problems capturing it. There is no reason to have any problems with this stuff at all.

No i dont understand it, because so far i know there is no way to produce an error like this if everything is working fine. OBS is really simple when it comes to audio, it just grabs the signal that is coming in from an input or output on windows. And there is nothing that can stop OBS from doing this, i even tryed to reproduce it and checked the Voicemeeter Banana (by the way thats one of the worst tools that i saw in my entire life working with audio) - it actually works.
Make sure that the signal is clear, OBS is your last point, you have to test everything else first (try to use some software to capture the outputs from the tool, something like Audacity).

If this is one of the worst tools, what would you suggest I use instead? I've been troubleshooting for 2 hours now and I still can't replicate what I had a week ago.

I use analog audio routing all the way until it goes into a single input on my audio interface (thats a soundcard, audio guys call them so). And i suggest anyone who needs more than 2 audio channels (1 input, 1 output) to get a hardware mixer and use it. Will solve all your problems right away and you dont have to mess around with additional software.

Unfortunately I literally do not have the money to spend on any additional hardware, at all, not even a wireless adapter card! Is there a way to add a third audio source (not microphone) to OBS?

i get audio but my video stops working heres my log please help me
