Question / Help Not Crystal Clear 720p on Stream?

Question.
Here's my stream so you can see what I mean:

http://www.twitch.tv/bwanden

It's kinda pixely and it doesn't look like crisp 720p, but it does on OBS. Do I need to raise my bitrate? It's 3500.

Here's my PC specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Graphics Card: MSI GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

Here's a speedtest:

Here's my latest log:

Lower your quality expectations. A high motion 720p60 live stream isn't going to look "crystal clear" at 3500 Kbps even with better compression than you're using. It's the nature of streaming with restricted bandwidth. If you aren't satisfied with the quality at 3500 Kbps you should consider lowering the stream resolution or frame rate, not increasing the bitrate. Twitch doesn't officially support higher than 3500 Kbps and many viewers have difficulty watching at those speeds.

This guy has a pretty decent 720p clear stream and he's on X-Box.

How can I get that? Especially on PC?
& ok, I turned my FPS to 40.

you downscale from 1080p ... xbox one and ps4 are still 720p based so theres no real compression also this guy is streaming 720@30

The biggest difference is that he plays a game without any small texts where the compression artifacts become noticeable. Your stream looks at least as good, as far as it's even possible to compare two such completely different games.

alpinlol: Of course there's compression, he isn't outputting raw uncompressed video. There's just no downscaling, which help a bit.

Shouldn't PC be way more easier to get 720p crystal clear 30 FPS then since it's just my graphics card, capture card, & PC? No other connections like console.

He isn't streaming at 60 FPS and his PC is doing nothing but streaming console content, which means he has more freedom to increase the amount of compression without affecting game performance. Streaming PC content means your CPU has to both run the game and compress the video.

That is completely bogus logic and also doesn't really have anything to do with the issue at hand.

No.

Question while we're all here:

How come I can only record in "HD 1080i 60" on PC? I want to record in 720p 59.94 but keep my monitor resolution at 1920x1080. I tried switching my monitor to 1280x720, but it looks awful on my 1080p HDMI full HD 1920x1080 monitor.

Your capture card most likely doesn't output 1080p60, and a capture card in a 1PC setup is a complete waste. Just use game capture or window capture.

Yes. Black Magic Intensity Pro. In my cap card software, I can only record in 1080i because I'm using a DVI cord from PC to my monitor, then a HDMI cord from graphics card to my cap card. When I switch to 720p 59.94, no signal comes out. Only works in 1080i 60.

Well, when I used to stream my X-Box, it worked perfectly at 720p 59.94.

That's fine, use it for the console content where it actually has a purpose. Using it for PC content doesn't make any sense unless you're using a second PC to handle the encoding.

The BMIP can't capture at 1080p60. BlackMagic cards are very picky about what signals they accept. Your Xbox works because it is outputting at 720p59.94. But you can't send a 1080p signal from your monitor and expect the BMIP to downscale it to 720p59.94. It just doesn't work that way.

And yes, using a capture card on a single PC to capture PC-only content is not very useful.

I got tired of paying for X-Box Live since the original X-Box :p So I switched to PC.

But ummm, so what, PC can't/doesn't output 720p 59.94? I used the same monitor for X-Box.

EDIT: What should I use to stream PC then? Just OBS & no card?

For PC, yes, just OBS and no capture card.

Just because your monitor is capable to displaying a variety of inputs doesn't mean the capture card is capable to accepting a variety of inputs. The monitor can accept the Xbox 720p 59.94fps output and the computer's 1080p60 output. The BMIP can accept the Xbox 720p 59.94fps output, but NOT the 1080p60 computer output.

Welcome to the land of BlackMagic. Enjoy your stay.

Gotcha. Is there any work-around or anything for that so I can do 720p 59.94 then?

Without replacing the capture card? No. Maybe you can find some obscure converter box somewhere on the internet, but by that point you might as well be spending money on a capture card that actually does what you want.

The quality you get also depends greatly on the game itself. For instance Two Worlds 2 has lots of moving grass and it will seriously mess up the recording quality no matter what. I even tried 3500kbps and it didn't help all that much. On the flipside, I can stream pretty much any FPS game in 720p at just 1500kbps with near perfect quality and with little to no blocking.
