Question / Help Not a Damn Clue What I'm Doing!

Hey all, I need some help. My daughter plays an online game, and wanted to start recording her game play to upload. I looked around till I found this program. Once I installed it, I read all kinds of tutorials and even watched a YouTube video. My problem is that I'm not computer savvy at all. Every time I think I've got it figured out, it doesn't work. I can see what she's doing when it previews, but once I attempt to record it just shows a frozen screen, but her voiceover plays perfectly. What am I missing? I don't have a clue what any of these settings mean, and I'm just hoping someone here can help me. Thank you for your time.

Note that Windows Media Player can't playback files produced by OBS most of the time (I think that's what Harold is trying to get at). You should download VLC media player and see if your files work in that.

If you need additional help with your settings, you should post them here for us to have a look at.

Yes, I was using VLC. It definitely opens the file. But what it looks like is basically a screenshot, with my daughters audio playing just fine for the length of the video.

How big is the video file? If it's not too big you could zip it up and upload it somewhere. Also, if it's not very big that would narrow things down aswell.
