I have been trying to make recording with OBS, but my files have no video in them. The audio is fine, just no picture. I am using game capture and the video is showing fine on the preview window but its not in the files. I have run OBS as administrator but no change. If anyone has any ideas on this please let me know.

You have to create a capture source in your scene. you can capture a specific window, games or if you really need to capture the whole monitor you have to disable aero for that last one though.

Create more scenes if you need different sources (don't create more than one main source for each scene)

So what you are saying is that i should get Nvidia or smt like that?

I'm saying get familiar with the application, you need to setup scenes and sources in order for obs to capture something for you.

I can capture the sound perfectly, but it doesn't capture any video. I'm trying to run webcam and game capture. I have tried to adjust the settings a few different ways including the recommendation above.

Here is my most recent log.

I have it running webcam, monitor capture and game capture hoping that it would at least display one. I'm trying to run the webcam as well as either game or monitor. I also tried to run just the webcam earlier today withe same result of only sound with no video attached.

Does monitor/game capture work? I'm trying to determine if anything is rendering at all or not, or whether it's just your webcam

bl4ckstar89

No, it doesn't render any footage. when I run just the monitor or the game capture it does the same thing of only having audio.

So, black screen on all captures? This sounds like a driver issue or something. I actually am not sure if I have an answer if the application gets no video at all from anything. I've just never really seen that happen before. It would definitely have to be driver or system related for that to happen.

I seem to be having this same problem. The Guide posted above has been deleted and i've tried every setting i can think of to try to get this to work. My video shows in the preview window, but when i play back the recording, there's just audio.

When I record, there is no audio, no video. The file is there, but when I open it in movie maker or the media player, it won't show up.
