Hi, I'm having a problem and I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix it... basically, OBS isn't picking up any audio, at all. I've tried using Virtual Audio Cables, tried using the direct signal from my PreSonus AudioBox 44VSL soundcard and tried using other streaming software. Now, the only thing that's worked for me is using other streaming software. But that's not good enough at OBS is superior in how much performance it takes out of my computer. Soo, does anybody have any idea what I could do to fix this? There is no actual crash/error so I don't have any file to post on here, unfortunately. If it helps, here's my computer specs and OS:

Windows 7 64bit
Processor: AMD quadcore 2.8ghz
RAM: 8gb
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5850 XFX Black Edition
Soundcard: PreSonus AudioBox 44VSL (external, studio quality equipment)

I'll also add a screenshot showing all of my audio settings - this is the same setup that's working fine for me using FFsplit for streaming, but for some reason OBS doesn't pickup anything...

To be clear about the VAC settings, "Line In 1/2" is my mic and all the audio that goes to my speakers is also routed to "Line In 3/4", so basically both my mic and all of the audio that goes out to my speakers/headphones is routed to Virtual Cable 1, which is what OBS is using. FFsplit works when I do the same setup, as I said. Skype also picks up the Virtual Cable 1 just fine.

Anybody have any ideas what-so-ever how I could maybe fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated as I'm all out of ideas by now.

Oh, that's my bad. I thought a log file is something created when you experience a crash. Will post a logfile with in this reply!

Edit: Added it to the initial post too, just in case :)

I don't particularly see any problem in the log file, hm.. also I haven't heard of any problems with VAC, usually there are a fair amount of people who use it. Does the same thing happen without VAC? Have you tried setting VAC up as your mic instead of the desktop, then setting desktop to speakers and just mute it? Could be a timing thing, though not entirely sure. Would probably have to look at it over teamviewer some time (which you can do with me if you wish if you come by chat some time)

I'd love it if we could look at it! What's this chat? Is it anywhere on the forums? (I'll be looking myself so I might pop on there without an answer). And yeah, same thing without VAC, unfortunately. I'm almost resorting to using another soundcard, but that would mean I can't use my studio mic which would kinda suck. I'll have to try setting VAC up as a mic a little later to see if that works, but I doubt it. It seems OBS just isn't picking up any sound no matter the source, which is really really weird.

Having a similar problem, but with mine, the mic preview shows as if there is a signal going in. I've also tested with the windows sound recorder and my mic is definitely working, and I know that it works with the other vidcap software I've been using... would really like to switch to Open Broadcaster, though, because it's video quality and speed are far superior, but really need to get the audio thing worked out. Thoughts? Thanks!
