after I record and local broadcast I can replay it using the windows player but that is as far as I can go. I do not know how to create a youtube video beyond recording because when I try to use sony vegas, lightworks, camtasia, etc. none of them support the local broadcasts from obs and I am stuck. I am not the best with computers but I follow instructions well which has gotten me this far. I have not found a tutorial on how to take the local broadcasts step by step and make it to a youtube video and upload it. If there is one please direct me to it. ty.

my resolution downscale is currently 960x540 because I thought I was making things with it too high but that didn't work.

If you Google "Freemake Video Converter" it's a freeware program (be careful during the install, it asks to install some adware) you can use to convert OBS' recordings into other formats that are more widely supported.

Since when is an MP4 container with H264/AVC video and AAC or MP3 audio not widely supported? You shouldn't need to transcode that.

I found the "log folder" and can see the entries. I also get you don't want me to post a page long reply. however, I have no idea how to go about doing this: no idea what a code tag is and what these websites are that I should be using to send this over.

""Please use code tags (code button) when posting a log on the forums

Do not use generic file sharing sites other than text paste sites for log files, as that will make us very sad, and we probably will just ask you to repost it. Only use those for dump files if absolutely necessary (though you should be able to just attach them to forum posts).""

I have found that sony vegas 12 pro can play my videos. I have yet to see if I can edit and upload them. I am learning through their tutorials now.
