Question / Help No console game sound output

Ok disabled the Kraken Launcher, rebooted, unplugged the Kracken from the PC and put into the PS4 - loaded up OBS - failed to initialize.....

Will obs not start streamign without an audio device actually plugged into the pc?

So - let me see.....

Will OBS pick up the headset sound and mic from the PS4 - using a kracken - when streaming through the Aver?

so with a different usb headset plugged into the pc - it seems I can get the sound from the PS4 with no problem and have the kracken plugged in.... how do I now get the mic from the kracken (which is in the PS4) to be heard on the stream???

Never mind I lied, having the other headset in produces no sound from the PS4..... only sound I can get from the ps4 is when the kracken is plugged into the pc.....

So confused on why I cannot for the life of me get this to work when I see TONS of streamers on PS4 doing this exact thing with aver and obs :(

wtf

Could the Kracken be over riding the audio from PS4 - stopping it from being HDMI? That's all I can think since the sound works when the kracken isn't plugged into the ps4

If the capture card is set to output audio to your desktop rather than just to the stream, then it will output to your default playback device, whatever that is set to in Windows.

But will this pick up the PS4 audio and the headset's mic in the PS4? I want to where a headset that has ps4 game sound and voice chat from the ps4- but I want the stream to hear all of it....

Does that make sense or am I just going in circles? My brain is fried......

So i got the sound and all that jazz working...... finally........ only issue now is the microphone.... ps4 party chat and game chat cannot hear me if the headset is plugged into the pc.....

I'm raising this from the dead.

I ran into this problem where I can get the sound in OBS, but I cannot get live sound to my headset. As you know picture and sound through a capture card is delayed and this will not suffice for when you are playing the game. Upon extensive research I have found a few options.

First off the problem is the PS4 will only output audio using one method. So if it is feeding sound out using HDMI you will not get sound in your head set and vice versa. There are two work arounds that will require purchases.

Option 1: You can get an hdmi converter. So you plug the hdmi cable coming out of you capture card into it and from there the monitor. This should allow you to connect audio using a 3.5mm audio cable to you headphones. This method may also require that you get a component audio cable.

Option 2: If your HDMI cable is running to a TV or monitor with an audio out port simply plug a 3.5mm audio cable into it and to your headphones.

Here are some links for the items that should help.

Component to 3.5mm Audio cable

For the Converter its hard to come up with a recommendation because I do not know your setup. If you can use an AGP connection it will be much easier and cheaper. Here is one with an HDMI out with audio components

http://www.amazon.com/IMAGE®-SPDIF-...id=1414531021&sr=1-13&keywords=hdmi+converter

Here is a standard 3.5mm audio cable just in case

I hope this helps.

@MidAirMan As long as the audio is getting to OBS you could always enable the "Output audio to desktop" option in the video capture device's properties if you want to hear the audio from your PC's headset. However I'm not sure that your solution is relevant to the issue outlined in this thread.

I tried what you are talking about and there is a delay on the audio. Making the audio useless for live gameplay, but fine for streaming.

What i think is happening is that u use a headset connected to the PS4. The PS4 has a few audio settings. When using a headset u need to set the audio setting of the PS4 to "all audio to headset" When using the mono headset for chat only u set the option to "Chat audio to headset"

The "problem" is u stream from your PC and the AV signal from the PS4 goes into the PC. When using the headset on the PS4 audio gets routed from the PS4 directly to the headset and as far as i know the audio does not go through the HDMI cable into the PC thus it does not get streamed. I might be uncorrect but this is what i think.

So u would have to route ALL audio over HDMI to the PC and use the headset on your PC. U need a mic connected to the the PS4 to be able to use chat tho.

I believe this way also party chat and ingame chat of players will be streamed because you stream the raw AV signal and that containts all audio.

This might only work if u play from the preview screen

If u still have the problem u can try that, myself will try it also because i am setting up an streaming setup myself and have not gotten till this part yet :)
