Question / Help No audio when playing in video editing software[Pinnacle Studio 17]

When I try to play my recorded games through Pinnacle Studio 17 there is no audio playback, just video. If I play it through VLC or something the audio is there, so I know it exists.

My recording settings...

Video Encoding
x264
Use CBR: On
Enable CBR Padding: On
Quality Balance: 10
Max Bitrate: 16000
Buffer Size: 1800

Audio Encoding
Codec: AAC
Bitrate: 256
Formate: 48kHz
Channel: stereo

I have tried MP3 as well and it made no difference. Now here's the kicker. If I run the .mp4 recordings through Handbrake and convert them to another .mp4 Pinnacle will have no issues with this "converted" file. I'd rather not have to start batch processing all my videos as that would take a solid chunk of time. Ideas? Solutions? <3

I'm guessing that it's more of a codec issue. Make sure you have codecs available to decode AAC on your system. VLC already comes with those sort of things built-in, and that particular editing program may rely on the system to have windows codecs installed instead.

If not, then I'm not entirely sure what to suggest, you could try reencoding to another format which that editing program is compatible with via ffmpeg I suppose.
