Bug Report No audio when doing local recording

I'm trying to record locally but there's no audio at all. No music, game sounds, or mic sounds. I have not yet tried streaming but I'm not a big streamer so that isn't a big deal. I also cannot open any files i record with Sony Vegas Pro 11 as far as I know.

Have you checked if "Desktop audio" in Settings are correctly configured?

- About the Sony Vegas can't open the files, you should be able to open them. Otherwise post the error message received when trying to add the files.

I think you have to use AAC audio with Sony Vegas, I'm not sure if MP3 works.

If using MP3 for audio, it's currently not working properly with mp4s. AAC should work fine however.

I changed it to AAC and you're totally right
Mp3 is broken but AAC gives me perfectly good audio

I just recorded about 4 hours of video locally, and thought the audio was recording. When I play the files, the video is fine and the audio is no where to be found. I got home and ran the videos through handbrake, set to the universal setting and magically the audio is back (not the best quality). Still can't figure out what changed from my last setup, but wanted to share this option for anyone that runs into this problem.

Please create your own thread rather than bumping someone else's from over a year ago for a problem that was already solved.
