No Audio Capture from Camo Studio/Camera

I am running OBS on Windows 11 and using Camo Studio, pairing it with my Android 16 phone using Camo Camera.
In Windows Volume Mixer, I can set the Sound Input device to Camo Camera, and it works fine. I can record and test the sound from the Volume Mixer (and from Camo Studio itself). So Windows and Camo are working fine together.

But in OBS, even if I add an Audio Input Capture Source set to Camo, I never get any audio input (Video capture is working fine). The source status is Active in the OBS Audio Mixer, and volume gain is at the default 100%. I have monitoring set to "Monitor only". But I'm not getting any input. I'm not seeing any input on "Desktop Audio" either.

Here is my current Log File: https://obsproject.com/logs/D4kH5UOcJhSiCiop
I need to get this working by this weekend, so any help would be most welcome! Thanks!

There lines from the log file look pretty suspicious:

11:01:15.711: [WASAPISource::TryInitialize]:[Microphone (Camo)] Failed to initialize audio client: 80070005
11:01:15.711: WASAPI: Device '{0.0.1.00000000}.{d9c5bc7c-a98a-40ca-bcfd-940bdce45f89}' failed to start (source: Mic/Aux)

Although it might be a red herring. I had tried using Global settings to add Camo as an audio input and mapped it to Mix/Aux. Later I removed that since I configured Windows to map it to the default input device, and I also created an Audio Input Capture for Camo directly. Neither Desktop Audio nor the Camo input Capture are producing any audio.

Closing on this - I found a solution. I added Camo in the Global Audio settings as Mic/Aux, and used that *instead of* "Desktop Audio".
So even though it was working in Windows as my input for Desktop Audio (I could test/play it directly from Windows Sound settings, and I could record/playback just fine directly in Camo Studio), when that was in OBS Audio Mixer it prevented any audio input (even when combined with Mic/Aux - I had to have Mic/Aux *only* in the Audio Mixer on that PC).

ok i faced almost the same kind of thing when i was trying to use my android phone as a camera and mic with OBS on windows 11 so i think i get what is going on here

first thing is if windows volume mixer and camo studio both are getting the sound fine then your android side and camo side are already working so the problem is mostly how OBS is picking that audio device. OBS sometimes just doesnt like to grab audio from virtual devices even if they look active

a few things you should try

go to OBS settings then Audio and check in Global Audio Devices if Mic Aux is set to something else. set it to Camo Camera there and also remove or mute the extra Audio Input Capture source you added before and test again. sometimes having both makes it buggy

also go to Windows sound settings and make sure Camo Camera is not set as Default Communications Device only. set it as normal input device too. i had this issue once and OBS was getting nothing while windows was fine

another important thing is in OBS Advanced Audio settings make sure Monitoring Device is set to your real speakers or headphones and not to camo or something else. and for the camo source set it to Monitor and Output not only monitor. monitor only means you hear it but OBS might not record it

also try this simple test just for checking. in OBS remove the camo audio source completely. then add it again as a new Audio Input Capture and pick Camo Camera. restart OBS after that. OBS caches audio devices sometimes and they break

about Desktop Audio not moving that is normal because camo is not desktop audio it is a mic type source coming from your android phone

one more thing some versions of camo expose the mic as 48000hz and if your OBS is set to 44100hz it can cause no signal. go to OBS settings Audio and set sample rate to 48000hz to match camo and windows

i am pretty sure this is not an android problem itself but more like how OBS is binding the camo audio device. once it clicks it works fine

try these steps one by one and i think it should start showing levels in OBS mixer. i know how stressful it is when you need it working before weekend, been there
