Kindly add some of the options like selection of codecs for recording and broadcasting in the next update.

Custom codecs has been suggested many times before, and will be available at some point (though you will not be able to stream using those codecs, at least not over regular RTMP using the Flash stream player), but it will not be in the next update.

This is the kind of thing that would probably be part of the rewrite.
