Question / Help Newest OBS version but looks old

When i first downloaded OBS, it looked normal, like everyone else's does. But then I did something and now my mic and speaker icons are now solid red instead of the new more detailed icons. Along with this, I'm not able to use certain plugins like the one used with stream-tip to announce when a donation has been made (url something). On my old computer, when i started OBS up for the FIRST time after computer start up, it would prompt me to update, and when I did, it would change my icons and give me the plugins, but now with my new computer, it doesn't ask, and i think this is contributing to some of my problems such as not being able to use monitor capture with having both and integrated intel graphics card and NVIDEA card. (I've looked up every solution to this other problem but none have worked and I believe the thing that's messing with the icons and plugins is messing with that too.) I'm thinking that somehow OBS reverted to an older update and that's what's happening, but I'm not sure :/ Help would be much appreciated! ^_^ my last stream didn't go so well because i was all over the place what with monitor capture not working. AND ALSO: don't put that link to "if you're getting a black screen on laptop, read this first" because I've already read that and that hasn't done anything for me
