Question / Help New Streamer, Questions!

yea dont actually encode with the LG HD...also, there was a driver update at the end of january... i know ppl with older firmware and drivers had same issues as you with it.

I got mine just after the newest drivers and firmware and havent had a single problem with mine, i let OBS do all the encoding.
 
I've heard good reports of it as of late. It just left a bad taste in my mouth the first time around. Maybe I'll pick one up and try setting it up in my second computer. :)

EDIT: Oh and yes I was trying to actually encode with the LGHD. I was unaware that that was a bad idea. In fact, my assumption was that was the entire purpose of the card, since having it handle the encoding lowers the CPU load on the machine. =/ But thanks for the tip. Now I know better.
 
well even just using it as passthrough instead of putting all the load in software on the cpu will help...but yea, the x264 codec is OBS and XSplit is much better than the codec the LG HD uses natively.
 
Since I'll be running it on a second machine, CPU impact is meaningless anyways. :) Going to get it ordered this weekend. I might be hitting you guys up for setup tips once the machine is built up. :)
