Question / Help New Computer Parts Needed?

Filming certain fast-paced, high-graphics games (such as Loadout), I find that OBS is very slow and laggy. The video comes out fine, but it's just slow to maneuver during the filming.

Which computer specs affect OBS?
What can I do to make it less laggy?
Should I buy new computer parts/get a faster internet connection?

To provide some answers in the meantime:

Mostly CPU, as x264 encoding is generally quite CPU heavy. If you want to upgrade one part in regards to livestreaming, you cannot go wrong with a better CPU.

Various things. It could be due to your OBS settings, which is why we would like to have you post a complete log. It could also be because of your internet connection, or because of a lack of processing power. That said...

Depends. What's your upload speed? Also, your CPU generally scores better than mine, so I would expect that you should be able to do 720p@30fps streaming. It also depends on the game you want to stream, however.

Also, what exactly do you mean with "slow and laggy"? Does it actually slow your computer down? Do graphical artifacts appear on the stream? Or are you talking about the general delay between your screen and the stream as seen on Twitch?
