Hey guys I've been using OBS since last year and have loved it. I was streaming off of my laptop with standard settings but recently purchased a new computer. However, there has been a lot of pixelation lately on my stream and I honestly don't know how to fix it.

Computer Specs:
i7-5820k CPU @ 3.30Ghz
Geforce GTX 970
16gb RAM
upload speed is 1.98 mbps

My OBS settings:
CBR is enabled
Max bitrate is 1500
base resolution is 1920x1080
resolution downscale 1280x720
filter lanczos
fps 30

Advanced settings:
Multithread opt is enabled and is priority class normal
x264 CPU is on very fast
CFR is enabled

I tried testing CS:GO the other night but it was just horrible. Minecraft has been pretty bad as well. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm quite new to OBS but your upload speed is dismal and it seems that your resolution and bitrate are too high. Try lowering them a bit and see if that helps. You have a beastly CPU so you could perhaps change the x264 CPU to the fast setting, but since this seems like a major flag, perhaps wait on others opinions before you try this second route.

Thanks for the response. I lowered the bitrate to 1350. I changed multithread process priority class to high. and it looks a little better. I'll try downscaling it a little more. I would want to change the cpu preset but i'm a little afraid of doing it.

lowering the bitrate and chaning the process priority wont help much its all about bitrate and preset.

in your case 720p30 with medium preset shouldnt be a problem on the 5820k

and since you seem to not have any problems with your ping i would stick with 1500 bitrate since more bitrate = better quality.

you might aswell also downscale to 540p30 and still use the medium preset with the same bitrate but then fonts will start looking really bad in some cases
