I record Fortnite and I play at 165 fps but like to have 144 fps in obs for smoother recording. This works fine for replay buffer but when I actually want to record, my in-game fps drop to 2 fps basically my screen is still for a bit. RN my settings are AMD H265 HEVC for recording. CQP with 20 for I and Q frame and keyframe at 2 or 5 (not really sure what it is). I don't mind turning my fps down to 60 or 75 for recording in obs but even when I do I still will get an fps drop to 2 every once in a while.
BTW my recording sessions are like 20 mins but if it helps I can change it to two 10 mins sessions. Idk but please put suggestions.
And Again to clear it up these settings work perfectly for 30-sec replay buffer at 144 fps but suck at recording even at 60fps.
PC: CPU- Ryzen 5 2600
GPU- Radeon RX 570 8 GB VRAM
RAM- 8GB
Storage- 500gb SSD with like 100-200 GB available & 1.5 TB old HDD I use this for other stuff, not obs and games
