so, everytime i stream, my game lags. ive analyzed the logs until they said there isnt a problem. its better now, but it still lags a lot. i only stream diablo3 and csgo. the ingame lag is enough to make it not fun to play. i need help asap because ive run out of options that i know of to try. my upload speed is 5.87 and i have my bitrate set to 3000. ive played around with it and i dont think that is the issue. here are my pc specs:
  • CPU: AMD FX-9370 Eight-Core Processor
  • CPU PCF: Cooler Master Seidon 120M
  • RAM: 16GB DDR3
  • MB: Gigabyte 990FX
  • PSU: 900 WATT Apevia
  • GPU: AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB
  • Memory: 128 GB SSD Samsung 840 EVO & 1TB HDD Caviar Blue SATA III
  • OS: Windows 7 64-BIT Home Premium

that log file that you analyzed would be good to post here with your post. Not the analysis results, the original log file.

Code:
Syncing audio to video time
dont use this if your mic is offset from your camera. use audio offset to compensate for AV sync issues with your mic

Code:
Number of frames skipped due to encoder lag: 883 (2.30%)
do you have any browsers running with the stream? or preview mode? the reason why I ask is because your FX-9370 should be able to easily keep up with 720@30 with faster preset. close all other programs except the game and OBS (without preview) and see if the lag remains.

even with my browser closed it still lags. ive even tried to not have my windows media player playing music and it still laqs. something is wrong cause like you said, i dont see why my cpu cant handle this...... it should even be able to handle music and having a browser open as well. i5's can handle that....

i have d3, teamspeak3, steam, and music from the media player going. ive tried without all these and its the same. i dont see i reason why my computer shouldnt be able to handle all of that in the first place tho.

did you disable syncing audio to video?

can you post a log without anything else loaded? restart the PC then just start OBS and the game, play for a few, then post log. so I can compare with your other log

this one had the browser open and watching twitch and it lags. so i cant run two monitors and see my twitch chat while i stream with my set up??? that doesnt seem right at allllll
decoding can use up a lot of CPU. just go watch a 1080p stream at 60fps. it will use up as much cpu as streaming at 720@30 just for decoding. this is partially due to flashplayer to which twitch is working on switching to HTML5 in the next year or so?

I myself use livegamer and VLC to watch on my second monitor I have a batch file on my desktop that I run after I start streaming. The batch file looks like this:
Code:
start /min livestreamer.exe twitch.tv/INSERTSTREAMERHERE source

. and funny enough, internet explorer doesn't use as much cpu to decode as chrome or firefox; I swear I've never say that :D

okay it still lags and here is the log from my last stream that lagged bad. https://gist.github.com/5607fd22bdcf8097497c
Code:
WARNING: Another hook is already present while trying to
hook opengl32.dll,hook target is unknown
you wouldn't happen to have raptr (aka gaming evolved) installed and/or running in the background, would you?

If so, remove it if you dont use it. if you do, make sure it is definitely not running (even if its a service in windows).

what is that?
it uses VCE (video codec engine) to record your game through AMD software. it is often installed with your video card drivers.

Speaking of which, there is a build that can use VCE as I just noticed that you have an R9 200 series card. it uses your GPU instead of your CPU to encode.

After you fix this, you should check it out.
https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-branch-with-amd-vce-support.13996

its an OBS fork that also uses VCE instead of x264

EDIT: also, uncheck use automattic low latency mode

how do i fix that. im completely confused now. i have a teamspeak if youd like to jump in real quick and explain how to fix this, cause im lost now.

So the resolve of this was that overwolf was lagging his game capture. after he removed it, he was able to stream 720@60 on the medium preset I believe? Anyway, I think all is good. @adamthegreat27
