So this is very strange. I have been streaming now for 2 month and it all works fine(until now)
Today my OBS acting strange. All of the sudden some games will not work. I can stream but get a black screen with sound. But not on all games, some still work.
I have tried all guides on the internet.
Why do a few games work while other don't, and why can't i get those that used to work, work prober?

I have my official launch 18 of march and many are looking forward to that stream(prices and all)
Making me very nervy.

It all started when i got this new games called "ori and the blind forest" after that game only half my usually streamed games will work.. I need help bad and fast. Can someone guide this lost soul...

Regards Retroisle
EDIT* It also say "can't find screen" it that helps

It looks like you have something else attached to your games that is conflicting with game capture. Turn off any other capture / OSD / overlay programs such as FRAPS, Razer Comms, TeamSpeak, MSI Afterburner, etc.

This is an unsolved error. I get this warning too and it's a black screen. But my friend gets this warning and he streams just fine with game capture.

Thank you AndehX for taking your time even tho your not a dev,
No i dont have sweetFX. What i dont understand is that it worked perfect until this error. And why do some games work while others do not?
OBS have been good to me but i fear i need to switch to something else if i cant get this to work before my official launch 18 of march.
I have invested a lot of money in to this stream as well. New internet, new camera, new tablet, contest prices plus a lot of time to learn the programs and so on...
All help i get from devs is the same as the help log gives me. BUT i dont use no other fps program...

If the devs cant help me, please say so. All i do is making me self look stupid when devs refuse to help...

Ok, perhaps this helps. I uninstall OBS and downloaded it again and this happen.

Error opening file for writing:
C:\program files(x86)\plugins\GraphicsCapture\GraphicsCaptureHook.dll

They talk about a hook?

EDIT: i did reinstall and still same problem. I cant even find my game in application(game capture)

Ok, so i take it i will not get any help even tho this problem seem to be common?
What kind of forum is this, don't you take care of your users, i have never been treated like this in any forum i been to. I also used to work as a paid Admin/moderator for years and i know how hard it can be with frustrated users BUT i always took my time and explained to those users that i could not help them when i did not know the answers.

This is very bad Pr for OBS. I really like the obs prog and thought it worked really good up till now. I'm stressed and got a upcoming dead line for my stream and a lot is riding on OBS because thats the platform i built my stream on.

I did try Xplit but i think OBS is better for me. This is such bad handling from your part.
If you do not know how to help please say so and then i can move on...

OBS is not a company, no one here is paid, so you can lose the attitude.

Your problem seems to be specific to your computer. As you were told on IRC, your GPU is very old and running out of resources. You should look into at least upgrading your GPU if you are serious about streaming, or at least try one to determine if that is the problem.

Paid or not paid, i only got an answer because i wrote as i wrote plus i never got a real answer in irc. And it worked fine for 2 month then all of the sudden the games gone dark. If the GPU had been that old it should not had worked as it used to do...
And i stay behind my words, ignoring people instead of saying "sorry, we cant do anything to help you" is wrong and not about attitude, its common sense(i also used to work as an admin) you are only taking it hard because you know this is a problem you devs have yet to solve...

I had to buy xplit and now it all works perfect, so how come its the GPU then?
Anyway, thx for trying i guess...
I'm not going to fight about it, i know you guy's do all you can do in your own speed.

I understand your frustration, but you have to remember that OBS is not a company, and nobody is being paid to develop this program. They do it in their free time for our benefit, so they have no obligation to answer anyones problems.
Yes there are major problems with Game Capture. I myself cannot get it to work either. I just stick to running my games in Borderless Windowed mode, and then just using Window Capture, which works just as well.

There are not "major problems" with game capture. Almost all problems are due to people trying to use game capture on laptops with multiple GPUs, where the drivers are extremely buggy and you have to ensure you bind the app and OBS to the same GPU. Try it on a single GPU desktop and you'll have a much better experience.

OBS uses high performance shared texture capture for high speed and low resource consumption, xsplit does not. Thus xsplit's slower code is more compatible with older GPUs like your 9 year old card.

Thank you R1CH, this is all i needed to hear and all i wanted. I do not use a laptop but still this answer is enough for me and would have saved us all much time and trouble.

Strange part is that all worked well until now, running smooth for 2 month. I still think OBS is a good program even if i come off as a dick.

I hate to break this to you, but I used OBS on a desktop, and I can't get game capture to work with DayZ or CS GO. So I'd say its far from perfect...

"high performance" and yet you recommend it to be used on a single gpu desktop? what about sli?
