Gooood Morning all,

I am at the point where I want to build a pc just for streaming to Twitch & YouTube only. No gaming, no editing, nothing like that he he

I already have a Live Gamer HD, but I cant seem to decide on which cpu I should get. I will be streaming all sorts of games at 720p@60 fps. I would like to do that at slightly above average quality settings within Xsplit. Doesnt matter to me if its AMD or Intel, I just want it to get the job done and I dont want to go overboard either, meaning, if the AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) will do it, then thats fine, if I need a i7 4790, I can do that to I suppose. The budget is tight, but getting the job done is the most important thing. Let me know what yall think

Personally I'd go for an Intel i7 from Sandy Bridge or later. If you can get a 2600k or 3770k used, cheap, do it. Otherwise check your nearest Microcenter for a good deal on a Haswell i7.

Some people like the eight core AMDs, but just from viewing these support forums, they seem to perform notably worse than the i7s with 4 cores and hyperthreading. I'd get one of those AMDs before getting an i5 though, for a dedicated stream box.

If you do the AMD, put your extra $ in a good watercooler and overclock. The max temps on the IHS is only 65c which is low for modern CPUs. I've seen those CPUs throttle due to borderline temps which will kill your encoding ability. Personally, I would go with the AMD in this case, but be warned about the temps!
