So basically, I'm struggling to download obs, I'm not sure if my graphics card is good enough, is there a way around this? I go to download it and it pops up saying looking for directx in order to install and nothing else happens I have tried xsplit aswell and te same thing happens, I'm not amazing with computers so go easy on me cheers

Installed Memory (RAM): 4.00GB (3.89 GB Usable)
System Type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-Based Processor
Pen and Touch: No Pen and Touch input is available for this display

the solution was to download OBS as a zip file and extract OBS into a folder, instead of installing it.
here is the current OBS version from github: https://github.com/jp9000/OBS/releases/download/0.637b/OBS_0_637b.zip
unzip the folder and try it out, hopefully it works for ya.

if you can, post your graphics card (or is it integrated graphics?) and your operating system version: windows 7, windows 8, etc.

found that thread as well.
it suggests to update your graphics card driver, which would be from the intel website (http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/graphics), and to update directx, which would be from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
