Question / Help need a webcam/microphone hotkey

im gnna be straight up honest with u guys, i stream, im 16. so yes sometimes my parents barge in on me when im streaming. is there 1 button i can press that when pressed will mute my micrphone AND turn off webcam at same time?

make a blank scene. set that scene to a hotkey, use the next key over for mic mute. I think that would be best solution recommended hotkeys are those that start with ctrl alt [hotkey] that way they aren't accidentally pressed.

wait actually. how can i actually do that because i need to capture game as well

Make sure your webcam is added as a global source
Duplicate your existing scene
In the new scene remove/uncheck the webcam
Define one hotkey for Mute/Un-mute Mic under Settings > Hotkeys
Define two more hotkeys to switch between the two scenes

It's much easier in OBS-MP, you can just assign the same hotkey to toggle the mic and webcam sources on/off at the same time.

ok im srry now i understand, now when i press alt it switches to the scene with to cam and also mutes the mics. thanks man and srry i get to damm impatient

when you add a global source, click add then global source then the webcam. its already set up. you really need to read up on using OBS, possibly the how to guide.

OBS MP is the rebuild of original OBS. its set up similar but uses better code inside but is still lacking a few features for streaming. the majority of them make it just as capable though.
