My microphone cuts out every other half second of audio sounding glitchy and choppy

this ONLY happens in obs and no other recording platforms i have tried every solution i could find including changing bitrate sample rate devices removing filters ect
ive looked at a few forum posts and videos none of witch seem to help, this only occurs in obs it happens both while streaming and recording
also when i preview the mic and monitor it it sounds completely fine and normal
