My Imac lags whenever i open it.

So i have had this problem any time i open OBS, I use a iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) with a

Radeon Pro 570 4 GB and 24gb of ram and

3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5.

I've been trying to get used to and record videos on OBS but it'll always lag.
Can anyone give me some advice and tips to fix this problem?
